Tony Facenda
Senior Pastor
Pastor Tony was born on a military base in Newfoundland, Canada on December 25, 1955. Because his dad served in the Army the family traveled to a variety of locations before settling in Portsmouth, VA in 1966. Having grown up in the Roman Catholic Church, Pastor Tony came to know Christ as his Savior on January 8, 1968 through the ministry of Sweethaven Baptist Church. He preached his first sermon the last Sunday of September of 1968. While attending Churchland High School he led an evangelistic team that held youth revivals at a variety of churches. He graduated from Tennessee Temple University in 1978.
Pastor Tony served as Assistant Pastor in the Indianapolis, IN area and then in Durham, NC. He became Pastor of South Hills Baptist Church in 1980. After serving there for eighteen years, God led Pastor Tony and Karen to the Outer Banks of NC to start Still Waters Baptist church on the first Sunday of March of 1999.
As part of Pastor Tony’s ministry at Still Waters he oversees the Harbor Counseling Ministry and is President of the board of Baptist Home Missions.
Micah Alexander
Youth Pastor
Pastor Micah works closely with the teens in youth group, homeschool network, & day camp settings. He also oversees the youth ministry at SWBC from nursery through 12th grade.
Micah and his four siblings were born and raised in Brazil as church-planting missionary kids. At the age of fourteen, he was saved by God's grace and served in ministry with his parents every week while growing up. As a ;Junior in college, Micah caught a vision for investing in teens and he has been working with youth ever since. Micah received his B.S. in Youth Ministry from Bob Jones University in 2008.
Micah's favorite thing about ministry is working with people. He loves spending time with those who need encouragement, and is thankful for the privilege of presenting God's Word to the youth of SWBC and the surrounding community. When he's not spending time with teens or preparing sermons, Micah loves working with his hands and exploring the great outdoors with his wife, Jessica, and three kiddos. Judson is four and loves animals, outdoors, drawing. He's a great big brother to Kian (Three) who loves to imitate and do whatever big brother does. He especially loves jumping off things like a superhero. If he is ever bruised, simply ask him what he jumped off of. Both brothers take great care of baby sister Adeline (8 Months). She's full of joy, curiosity, & cuddles.

Karen Facenda
Church Secretary, Office Manager
Karen was born and grew up in Portsmouth, VA. She came to know Christ as her Savior as a young teenager and began serving the Lord at Sweethaven Baptist Church. There she met Pastor Tony, and they were married on August 16, 1975. She graduated from Tennessee Temple University with a degree in Elementary Education in 1978. She and Pastor Tony have two sons, Jonathan and David. They have two daughters-in-law named Rachael (married to Jonathan) and Marty (married to David). They have five grandchildren.
Karen is the Office Manager at Still Waters and a vital part of the Harbor Counseling Ministry. She also teaches at Still Waters and speaks at ladies meetings in other churches.
